1 month of preparation and it's ready to go!

After a bowl of cereal, an iced mochachino, a banana and one month of preparation, today marked the last day of my hard work. I got my booth design done (see image below), business cards and postcards done yesterday, my poppy flowers for the show from flower district in Manhattan today and took care of my mini rose-like violets (see last image - hopefully they can be in top shape for the show), finished all the cast pieces for Harlequin&Lionhead. Tonight I'll get the price tags done and maybe a few more earrings, then I'm ready.

I have to say I feel a little strange that this is all going to be over in 2 days and all my hard work may not even come out to anything. Most people just keep doing this as their full time job, from one show to another. This is really fun (only if I have a car I can drive myself anywhere and not have to worry about making someone drive me 4 times a month to different shows!) I wish this will last forever, the preparation work, the optimistic drive, the hope and dreams of being successful.

I should not expect too much from my first show, but at the same time, I can't help but feeling excited about it. Two days to go. And you'll have my full report ;)

Wish me luck!

More details on the craft show

I finally got the map of the show! Click on the map below for a larger size image. I'm where the circle marked "DEB's HERE Bunnies Can Dream" on the top of the map. Entrance at the bottom of the map.

The show will start at 10am and there will be a raffle at 4:15pm, 45 mins before the show ends. There are also picnic area for the visitors so come with your friends and kids. It'll be fun!

Look for the posters. I'll have them printed out and standing in front of my tables. One is the bunny art, the other is colorful paint. You can't miss it!

And remember, if you have purchased from me before, your 10% return customer offer applies. Just let me know who you are! ;)

Preparation for the craft show

Just want to share with you where I am now. It's my first craft show so I don't really have much to begin with.

Well I am almost done with the table top display. Today I put out the jewelry inventory I have so far on the display to see how it looks like and I think I have a lot of earrings still to go...There are another tree coming from Singapore that will be solely for Harlequin&Lionhead. I'll post it when I got it.

One thing worth mentioning on the display is that I ordered the acrylic trees from Weaselfactory and I have to say, she probably gave me the best customer service possible in the world. She is the same artist that created the "Oh, Happy Day/Oh, Crappy Day" acrylic ring set in my earlier post.

Weaselfactory is in UK but no only did she offer to help me make the deadline by having the trees flew all the way to US in a luggage and ship locally with USPS, she custom-made the trees to include my two rabbits at no additional costs, and gave me a quantity discount (I ordered 4 trees from her). Throughout the process she has been most patient and showed me drawings and helped me figure out how to put in studs and necklaces on the trees...It is exactly sellers like her that keep me in love with Etsy. It's a community where people respect each other, and try their best to deliver quality work and services. Check out Weaselfactory's shop if you have a chance. She offers not only acrylic display but also jewelry ;)

Does your blog look like this?

This is an amazing app that transform your blog into a lovely picture. This is how mine looks like:

I'm dying to change the skin of my blog to something a little more refreshing. While looking for botanical graphics for my blog, I stumbled upon this funny app. It takes the elements like links, table, image...etc and turn them into dots of different colors and they are connected to your posts.

I used mine to create the background of my blog. Do you like it?

April comes knocking on your door

April has become one of my favorite months in a year. Despite the unpredictable weather and possibly one last snow fall as a joke of nature, it is a month of awakening.

So here brings forth an April shower inspired treasury I put together, with a few items I recommend on Etsy. And a spring treasury by a member of the 5 Boroughs Team on Etsy showcasing my Tassels of Figs Swarovski Earrings.

Enjoy!

My Treasury - Raindrops keep falling on my head...

My favorite of the week is Weaselfactory's "Oh, Happy Day/Oh, Crappy Day acrylic ring set. I come to know of Chrissy's work through a chance search. I was looking for acrylic tree display for my coming jewelry craft show and landed on her shop. She is probably the most patient seller on Etsy. Love working with her and her rings are so whimsical! This ring set is a combination of a sunny day and a stormy day. Layers of acrylic in different colors and different "weather" elements are combined to become one thick statement rain.

Another acrylic jewelry maker is dwarfstardesign. Here I have included her Sea Urchin UNI Coasters. Check out her shop and look for the NIBBLE Necklace as well - she made it with iridescent metallic acrylic and it looks just like a fish!

Way up in the sky the little birds fly...

Thanks to Elfish88, my Raindrops necklace is featured on Etsy!

The Raindrop necklace is a very elegant necklace that uses memory wires so no hassle with hooks or clasps. It just clings onto your neck securely and comfortably. The little light blue Swarovski crystals shimmers. This necklace is a great choice for evening or to go with a more formal office attire.
